Daan Viljoen Game Park:-

This small game park is situated 25km outside of Windhoek in the Khomas Hochland hills and is sanctuary to a relatively large population of game species typical of Namibia's highlands. Mountain zebras, klipspringers, steenbok, kudu, springbok, blue wildebeest, eland and red hartebeest are just some of the species that can be seen here. The park is also very popular for birdwatching as more than 200 species have been recorded here.

The game park's convenient location and the abundance of wildlife makes the Daan Viljoen resort situated in the park the perfect stopover for tourists who would like to experience the tranquillity of the bush. It is also a popular weekend retreat for Windhoekers.

Important Information:

The park and resort is open throughout the year from sunrise to sunset.

Overnight visitors with reserved accommodation may enter up to midnight, once booked in during office hours.

Angling is possible at the resort, depending on the dam level. Permits are obtainable at the park office.

No pets or motorcycles allowed.

IMPORTANT NOTICE dated 03 May 2006: Namibia Wildlife Resorts Ltd. which operates this resort has imposed the following payment requirements: a 10% non-refundable deposit of the room rate is due latest 10 days after reservation is made. The remaining balance also non-refundable is due 55 days before arrival. In case of change in reservation the 10% non-refundable deposit for the original reservation is forfeited.
