What the 43-year-old hotel proprietor from Emmental, Samuel Egger, opened up in the fascinating little town of Swakopmund on Namibia’s Atlantic Coast is far more than just a hotel: Sam’s Giardino Hotel with its 10 rooms uniquely combines an oasis of tranquility with a firework of the senses - a zest-fully inspired mixture of culture, quality, style and heart, coupled with a host of surprises.

Focal point of the generous layout with its huge garden of herbs is the kitchen, offering an incredible wealth of Swiss specialties, including a cheese fondue under the open night sky. The variety of fine wines and tobacco wares will also make many a heart beat faster.
And the Smokers' Nights (where exquisite cigars are served on the famous dunes with Port wine and Parmesan cheese) will be as unforgettable to the visitor of Sam's idyllic spot as lots of other things -like Einstein junior, for example, that gentleman amongst dogs, whose noble disposition has become legend in Swakopmund.
